What we do

Magic Carpet Mission Statement

“Inspiring growth, well-being and compassion, through the power of creativity for people challenged by health or social circumstances”

Through the creative arts we aim to nurture:

  • WELL-BEING by encouraging emotional and social development
  • GROWTH by promoting resilience, confidence and self-esteem
  • COMPASSION by appreciating the pressures of life

What we do

Since 1981 Magic Carpet has worked in Exeter and surrounding towns offering a range of creative arts activities to those people who don’t usually access the arts because of difficulties with health, disability or their social circumstances.

Magic Carpet recognises that life can be a challenge and that creativity can help people be connected and to feel better. We specialise in running meaningful creative activities for communities in Exeter and East Devon. We believe in making creativity accessible to all and to promote the arts as a fantastic vehicle to develop skills, meet people and build self-confidence.  We make art, act, sing and most of all talk, socialise and make friends.

    What's Next

This project supports restoring and returning our cultural activities back to pre 2020, by offering at this key time a joined up approach which will deliver fixed, community and outreach workshops, a motivational exhibition and a What’s Next day to relaunch ours and other organisations services post Covid.
