Inclusive Opportunities Devon is the product of Get Changed, Soundwaves, D'Arts and Magic Carpet creating a vision of fantastic creative opportunities being available to all adults with learning disabilities in the Exeter and surrounding area, run by people who understand their needs, strengths, individuality and potential. We want to see these opportunities being co-ordinated, accessible and of high quality - with staff and volunteers who really understand how best to work with this group of people.

We aim to; empower PLD to shape the service they want and celebrate their creative achievement through showcase events.  We also want to explore the possibilities of collective projects and joint fundraising, as we believe groups working together will have more chance of success than they do when, unknowingly, they are often competing for the same funding pot. We see creativity as many things including: painting, drawing, textiles, drama, singing, making, crafts and photography.

We feel there are many benefits of working together, including:

  • Increasing choices and options for people with a learning disability
  • Sharing resources and equipment
  • Mutual support, sharing ideas and networking
  • Developing and supporting local partnerships
  • Working together to secure funding
  • Skills development.
  • Creating funding options
  • To support staff recruitment
  • Publicity and connections and increasing community connectivity

All of us share an underlying belief in the power of creative activities to enhance and foster wellbeing, self-confidence and integration in our Community. We believe that the way forward is to build a strong community base collectively (and with further new partners) that will ensure PLD in urban and rural areas have access to quality provision.
