Magic Carpet has been part of the cultural community of Exeter for 40 years, inspiring growth, well-being and compassion for people challenged by health or social circumstances and hosting many thousands of participants over the years. For 20 of those years, the charity has been adeptly steered by the steady and expert hand of Rob Wynne, however the time has come for Rob to enjoy some much-deserved R&R in his retirement.

For this reason, we are now seeking to appoint a knowledgeable person to lead Magic Carpet as it navigates the next stage of its development, and re-build our services in the post covid world, including online.

The successful candidate should be able to engage with a wide range of people, from community leaders to group participants, searching out new fundraising opportunities and generating new income streams.

2021/2 provides a unique and exciting opportunity for a new CEO to join Magic Carpet and work with a dedicated team of Trustees, small staff team and great creative session leaders to deliver on our three-year Business Plan.

The CEO will also work with Get Changed Theatre Company (based in Okehampton) with their board of Trustees, providing strategic direction and funding support, equivalent of one day a week.

If you have experience in the voluntary sector, knowledge of working with people with a learning disability and / or with mental health challenges and can lead, collaborate, network and inspire, we would love to hear from you.
